  • Never sit with your back to the door or directly in front of it. Sit in such a way that you have a solid plain wall behind you, giving you solid support. If you have a window behind your back, make sure to cover with it heavy curtains. The Spot diagonally opposite the door, facing it, is generally the best place to locate oneself.
  • Always keep the toilet seat down and the doors of toilet & bathroom closed, unless advised by a qualified Feng Shui Practitioner.
  • Remove all clutter immediately. Clutter is any thing you have not used in last two years; of course it does not include your Holy/Reference books, etc.
  • Keep the Dustbin lid always covered.
  • Replace/Repair any leaking water taps. [A leaking tap means wealth going down the drain].
  • Repair/Replace any non working or damaged clock, electrical items like switches, wiring, Tape Recorder, Radios, Gadgets, bulbs, oven, microwave, toaster, hairdryer, etc.
  • Donate / Junk any non-working items or old Shoes, Chappals, Clothes etc.
  • Remove / Replace any mirror, glass, cutlery, which has cracked, broken or whose coating has chipped off. It brings bad luck [negative Qi].
  • Keep the paint work fresh & windows always clean.
  • While sleeping, make sure that your body is not reflected in any Mirror or shiny surface. If it does one will not have sound sleep & will have health problems.
  • Do not hang "Wind Chimes" inside your house, without consulting a qualified Feng Shui practitioner as It Will Do More Harm than Good.
  • Never keep your Laundry to dry outside in the balcony at night.
  • Avoid using a "Box Bed" as you may wake up having a Backache/Tiredness. Instead it is better to have a regular "Bed" with four Solid legs so that "Qi" [Chi/Chee] is able to circulate under the bed.
  • Do not build a Swimming pool or a Water Fountain just about anywhere in your, Society Housing/Bungalow plot without consulting a qualified Feng Shui Practitioner. As a huge body of Water in a wrong place may bring misfortune and illness.
  • Always keep the paint work fresh & windows clean so that positive influences can enter.
  • Do not keep skins of animals or potpourri in the house. Anything dead has negative energies.
  • Place two golden piggy banks in the West corner or a water fountain in the East corner of your house to enhance prosperity.
  • To improve romantic relationships, a red door mat can be placed at the West door or a yellow mat at the East door.
  • Beware! If there are any 'poison arrows', which come from edges of buildings, roof apexes, lamp posts, telegraph poles, bus stops, hospitals, doctors' clinics, graveyards, undertakers, or dentists, within the immediate vicinity of your house or if they project into your house, take protection from them by hiding them with a tree, or clump of bushes, or better still Bamboo. Bamboo is very magical in Feng Shui. Its name in Chinese means 'Heavenly Blessings'.
  • Do not construct a house with low ceilings. When the ceiling is too low, it may suppress the body's chi, and the occupants will tend to feel stuffy, dizzy, unfocused, and functioning as if they are half awake. In such cases put up a large mirror on the wall to give the room a more spacious appearance and bring in more light.
  • Never have exposed beams in the master bedroom, as they are a source of negative energy.
  • If a front door and a rear door face each other, the best thing to do is to keep at least one of them closed at all times. You want to avoid a rush of Chi straight through the house.
  • When buying/constructing houses try to ensure that the house is open in the front, with an open area, allowing energy to enter.
  • Do not keep a stove or a hot element in the centre of the house, as it causes the family to feel stifled and cause arguments.
  • Do not have a steep driveway leading up to your front door.
